The only thing good here is the mussels, atmosphere depends, once beyond the first 15 feet it is whatever. Not sure I would go back and the beer is expensive.

Do not go to Cafe Medina, unless you want to waste your money and time. I personally love Chambar and that's why I went to Cafe Medina. When I asked for fresh waffles, the waiter told me to come back at 9am next time. The one that I had was at least 2 hours old and yes, it was soggy and cold. What a service-oriented response that was! It only takes 2-3 minutes making fresh waffles and I could not believe how audacious the waiter was. I guess I had high expectations going to cafe Medina, as I love going to Chambar. It was total disappointment and it ruined my Saturday brunch. Besides having paid about 3 bucks for chewy and old piece of waffles, we also had to wait so long to be attended. NEVER AGAIN.

excellent pictures, foods looks very delicious! There's a place on Commercial Drive called Belgium Fries that you should check out. The fries there are really good and they have great dipping sauces too. What happened to the DOV for Gastropod? I thought I saw it last night, but i'm starting to think that maybe it was a dream!!!

The mussel sauce will be good with steamed rice. Too bad you can't order steamed rice in a western restaurant. Anyway dipping it with bread is the next best thing. Yummy!!!

It looks so pretty there! Will have to try it when we have a dinner date *sigh*. There's a Belgian fry place on Davie and Granvilleish. Forget the name but maybe I'll pop by there on Thursday and blog about it ;)
