Delivery charges for Max’s catering is absolutely ridiculous $20 to deliver food and then another $20 to pick up their supplies!!!

BTW, if you venture a bit more west next time, you can enjoy very nice desserts and coffee at Meinhardt Fine Foods on Granville @ 14th. Great place to people-watch too. It’s an urban “niche” market very akin to those in NYC Upper West Side. Variety is staggering especially given the relatively small size of the store. A must-go.

Hey Ben & Suanne, you were in my ‘hood :-)

Although I personally find Max’s prices pretty high, they nevertheless provides an important focal point for the neighbourhood. And their hours are good too. I see a lot of police officers frequent Max’s because of their convenience and variety of food throughout the day. Overall it’s a good ‘lil neighbourhood spot.

BTW, Stuart’s opened a 2nd location in the Oakridge Mall food court. Taking over the spot occupied by The Lunch Box.
