Chicken Patties

Minoo prepared four dishes in the Gilmore Park Community Kitchen. We made Chicken Patties, a warm salad, a Spinach Cake and a Red Rice Pilaf.

The Chicken Patties are marvelous. They are fried to crispy. Kids will love the Chicken Patties in their lunch boxes.

Prep time: 15 minutes; Cook time: 10 minutes; Serve 4

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/3 cup canola oil for frying

Instructions

Combine all the ingredients but canola oil in a big bowl.
Mix with your hands for 3 to 4 minutes to make sure all the ingredients blend together.
Grab egg size and using your palms to form them into patties.
This is a great work together recipe. You can involve your kids to help in the kitchen at the forming of the patties.
Heat the canola oil in a large frying pan until it sizzles. Fry the Chicken Patties until golden brown on both sides over medium heat. Place the Chicken Patties on a paper towel lined platter to absorb excess oil. Serve warm.

This is something you could make in quantity and freeze to eat later. You could also make it into a loaf or meatballs.

I don’t think the kids would want it in their lunchboxes, unless it came on a bun with some mustard, lettuce and mayo on the side!

  2. I haven’t made chicken patties in a long time and after seeing yours on Petit Chef, I’m going to make them again. I put a little remoulade sauce on the top and we loved them. I’m bookmarking your recipe because it’s a little different from mine and want to give it try.
