Red Bean Puff

I made this simple Red Bean Puff with ready made ingredients which can be found in most groceries stores. It’s kind of those dessert we normally get at the end of wedding banquets in Malaysia. I’m glad that I can make something similar with ingredients which are so easily available and easy to to make.

Instructions

Defrost the puff pastry according to the package instructions.

IMG_9326_edited-1Unrolled the puff pastry on a parchment lined baking sheet. Top the center one third of the pastry, length wise with the sweetened red bean paste. I used about 1/3 of a package of the red bean paste. Bring the sides of the pastry towards the center, overlapping one another.
IMG_9327_edited-1Place the pastry seam side down.
IMG_9329_edited-1Mix one egg yolk with a teaspoon of water. Brush the egg mixture on top of the pastry.

Bake in a preheated 400F oven for 15 minutes until golden brown.

Slice into 1 inch slices for your enjoyment with a cup of tea or coffee.
