Marian also included a Pesto Sauce with Walnut recipe in the South Arm Cooking Club for Senior kitchen. The Pesto Sauce can be served with the pasta which is part of the meat ball recipe.
The Pesto Sauce with Walnut is amazingly fresh and great with the pasta dish.
Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Source: unknown via Marian
Serves 10 to 12
Instructions
The basil leaves were harvested from the seniors garden when we were about to make the Pesto Sauce. How much fresher can it be?
In a food processor, blend together basil leaves, walnuts, garlic and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle in the olive oil slowly while mixing. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper.
Pesto pizza is unbelievable good! You should try making it. Brown’s Social House on Alma has fantastic pesto pizza.
Thanks Ben for another informative blog. There a lots of site with receipe but I really like yours since you have photos to show everything, pics of all the ingredients and it makes people like me who isn’t great with cooking knows exactly what to buy and how to make it.
Thanks – Yan
That basil is BEAUTIFUL! The pesto can also be added to mashed potatoes for a tasty side dish.
