Marinated Baked Pork Chops


For the main course, Marian prepared a Marinated Baked Pork Chops for the seniors. It is tricky to make a tender pork chop as it usually ends up tough and dry.

This Marinated Baked Pork Chops are moist and quite tender as there is no complain from the seniors.

Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

Instructions

Marinated-Baked-Pork-Chops-3Preheat the oven to 350F (175C).

Trim the pork chop of excess fat.

Marinated-Baked-Pork-Chops-6In a small bowl, thoroughly blend soy sauce, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar and ketchup.
Marinated-Baked-Pork-Chops-5Dip the pork chops in the marinating sauce to coat well and place in a medium baking dish.
Marinated-Baked-Pork-Chops-7Spread 1/2 of the sauce on the pork chop and bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Turn, and spread with the remaining sauce. Continue to bake for 30 minutes, or until internal temperature of the chops have reached 160F (70C).

Serve warm.

    • Another way to make pork chops tender and moist is to brine it. Basic brine solution is for every 1 litre water, dissolve 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup kosher salt. You can also add some aromatics such as thyme, garlic and whole pepper. Normal brine time is 8 to 12 hrs and no longer than that. Rinse the chops well after the brining and pat really dry. Then sear both side in a hot slightly oiled pan. Note that you dont need to season the pork chops because the salt in the brine wouldve seasoned it already. Make sure you dont overcook the chops.
