After the breakfast at Bel Cafe at the corner of Hotel Georgia, Polly and I took a walk along West Georgia Street.

We then turned to Turlow towards the Olympic Cauldron at Jack Poole Plaza next to the Vancouver Convention Center.

Jack Poole Plaza is named in remembrance of John W. Jack Poole who was the head of the VANOC bid committee who was responsible for bringing the 2010 Winter Olympics to Vancouver.

Looking at the photos what immediately came to my mind was a collection of 20 photos documenting Vancouver’s history that I recently saw in the West Vancouver Archives. It’s just amazing to observe the feel of the city streets now and then and to compare the buildings that have sometimes undergone major transformations as the years passed by.
