Beijing Day 8: Pastry Snack

Out from the Olympic Village, I saw two familiar structures.

I was surprise to see two totem poles which I thought originated from the indigenous people of the Pacific Northwest Coast of North America.

We went to take a closer look at the totem pole.

The tree structure across the street looks very interesting. I wonder if it’s real or fabricated.

A contrast of old architecture among new modern infrastructure.

We decided to stop by a bakery cafe to have a light snack for dinner after the scrumptious lunch in Huixin. A cheesy bread stick for Ben.

A sweetish pastry for me. We also had coffee and tea. The bill came to RMB25.40 (about CAD4.25). After the snack we wandered into a shopping mall. I bought some red dates to bring home.
