I’m starting another travel series. It was a trip Ben and I made in February this year. It was an unplanned trip back to Kuala Lumpur due to family emergency. This was my first time back to Kuala Lumpur after 12 years of immigration to Vancouver.
Some aboriginal carvings in the Vancouver International Airport.
An artificial bridge.
Vancouver International Airport is one of the nicest airport that I’ve been to.
An aquarium in the airport.
Ben and I traveled via China Eastern Airline, the cheapest we found. I had not been on such long flight for a long time. It was 12 hours 15 minutes from Vancouver to Shanghai for the first leg.
Our flight was at noon. So, the first meal served on the flight was lunch. I had fish noodle which came with steamed vegetables, half a marinated egg, and apple square for dessert.
Ben had the chicken rice with mushrooms and Chinese sausage and some greens.
The flight was not so good as the TVs were shared ones hung from the ceiling.
We played some card games to pass time. I’m too excited to sleep.
We were served tuna and ham sandwich for snack.
For breakfast, Ben had shrimp fried rice. Breakfast came with yogurt, some cut fruits and bun. Ben said the rice was soggy.
I had western breakfast with omelette, sausage and potato taters.
I went back to Penang with my kids at the end of Sept due to an unplanned family visit as well. We took China Airlines which to me was the cheapest and with the shortest transit time in between YVR and M’sia.
