Ben and I met up with Ben’s girls brigate friend, JT for dinner at Din Tai Fung in Subang Jaya. It was a long way from Kepong and the worst is the traffic jam. But JT is the best; she travelled back from Singapore over the weekend just to meet up with us.
We must have Din Tai Fung’s signature xiao long bao. We had the pork version.
Juicy xiao long bao.
Finely julienne ginger to accompany the xiao long bao.
We preferred the chili oil instead.
JT recommended spinach tofu which came with braised shiitake mushroom. The tofu is topped with seaweed.
We also had doubled boiled chicken soup to share.
Jar jiang mien to round up the meal. It’s dry noodle topped with pork sauce.
The noodles were long. It needs skill to get them into your serving bowl. The trick is to pick up a small amount at a time. Our meal came to RM90.95 (CAD30).
Ben and JT had so much to catch up.
