Random Eats in Beijing – Snacks

Here are some snacks that Ben and I had in Beijing.

018

A road side stand selling “kuey” like snack.

019

It is a savoury snack; filled with meat. The outer shell is sticky like mochi.

013

Another mochi like snack but this time it is a sweet snack.

014

This is filled with cream and durian.

015

A road side stall roasting sun flower seeds.

016

We bought a bag for RMB10 (about CAD1.60).

Golden bun from Breadtalk. It was RMB8. The meat filings were a little spicy.

002

Another signature bun from Breadtalk; Black Pearl. It is made with glutinous rice, mochi and squid ink. This was RMB7.50.

As a Hallowe’en joke, try the squid ink bun on someone who thinks it’s chocolate…

    I know, I’m wicked.
