Here are some snacks that Ben and I had in Beijing.
A road side stand selling “kuey” like snack.
It is a savoury snack; filled with meat. The outer shell is sticky like mochi.
Another mochi like snack but this time it is a sweet snack.
This is filled with cream and durian.
A road side stall roasting sun flower seeds.
We bought a bag for RMB10 (about CAD1.60).
Golden bun from Breadtalk. It was RMB8. The meat filings were a little spicy.
Another signature bun from Breadtalk; Black Pearl. It is made with glutinous rice, mochi and squid ink. This was RMB7.50.
As a Hallowe’en joke, try the squid ink bun on someone who thinks it’s chocolate…
