Fried Banana Plantain (Makemba)

These Fried Banana Plantain has the texture that is similar to fried yuka.

  • plantain
  • salt to taste
  • ginger and garlic paste

Instructions

025Cut the top and end off the plantain.
027Cut the plantain to halves. Make a slit on the peel.
028Remove the peel by peeling off from the slit.Cut the plantain into quarters.Season the plantain with salt to taste.

Add some ginger and garlic paste and toss to coat well.

058Shallow fry the plantain in oil on medium high heat until golden brown.Drain on paper towel.

Minoo demonstrated a recipe of Almond and Honey Cookies in the same cooking session. The difference between the cookies above is one had been smooth out before baking while the other is more rustic by just placing a tablespoon of batter on the cookie sheet.
