Dinner at Lido Restaurant

Nanzaro needed something light for dinner before his run the next morning. He had carbo-loaded himself with Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice from the Richmond Public Market at lunch.

We tried our luck at the parking lot where Lido is and luck was with us. The wait for a table was just a few minutes. It must be our lucky day.

We opted for the large Claypot Rice with a combination of salted fish with minced pork and chicken with mushroom.

006

It was a very large serving; definitely good for at least 3 people.

The best part of the claypot rice; the crust.

001

The large claypot rice comes with two drinks or two soup. We opted for the double boiled soup. The soup for the day had dried oyster, pork, honey date and fuzzy melon. It was a flavourful soup with no MSG as Lido proclaims.

Ben also ordered a pan-fried black cod with soy sauce. This was quite pricey at $15. The fish has a lightly crunchy skin and the meat is moist.

009

Lido accepts cash only.

Since our bill was above $18 but just short of $42 before tax, we got one free dessert.

002

I opted for the steamed egg white dessert; it was smooth and had a hint of ginger flavour. It is a great dessert eaten cold in the summer.

There are a lot of signages and menu on the wall in Chinese. Too bad I cannot really understand them. Most of them are specials or discounts on certain days. You can click on the menu on the right to have a larger view.
