Gingeri Chinese Cuisine in Lansdowne Mall, Richmond

I met up with my ex-colleague and husband (R&D) for dim sum at Gingeri Chinese Cuisine. They are now residing in Nanaimo and they seldom come over the Vancouver. I’m so happy to meet up with them.

We picked Gingeri for dim sum for the ease of parking in Lansdowne Mall. The photo menu is definitely a great help in ordering.

D is Caucasian and he loves typical dim sum items like Steamed BBQ Pork Bun.

Steamed Prawn Dumpling was of good size.

“Chiu Chow Fern Gor” is another D’s favourite. I’m glad he likes the version here.

They wanted me to pick some dishes. So, I picked the above Bitter Gourd Pastry with Red Bean Filing. They were surprisingly good, with just a hint of bitter gourd flavour and the sweet red bean paste complement the bitter flavour well.

I also ordered a “Lao Sar Bao” thinking that it was the Steamed Bun with Runny Salted Egg Yolk Filing.

It turned out that the filing was made with taro. My mistake of not reading the menu properly.

It was great to catch up with R&D. I’m glad that they are enjoying their retirement with vegetable gardening. They told me that they had such a bumper crop this summer and they enjoyed the fruit of their labour tremendously. It is very rewarding when you can just pick fresh and organic vegetables and herbs from the garden to prepare your meal.

R&D, thank you so much for the dim sum lunch.
