My family had dinner at Pho Japolo on Bridgeport Road before Ben left for another business trip.
We came back to Pho Japolo wanted to try the specialty dishes. Unfortunately, those dishes had been discontinued. They only serve regular Vietnamese noodle soup, rice plate and vermicelli bowl.
Nanzaro’s favourite condiments, various chili sauces.
Arkensen ordered the Noodle Soup with well-done flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon and beef tripe. The large bowl is $9.95. The serving is not as large as other Vietnamese places.
Ben and I shared our dishes. The first items is the Pho Dac Biet which is the house special which has everything in it. The large bowl is $10.50.
The second item we shared was the Beef Stew with bread. The sauce was thickish. The beef chunks were slightly chewy.
The baguette which came with the beef stew was quite flaky on the outside as there were crumbs scattered on our tables when we broke it by hand.
Nanzaro, the picky eater ordered the Bun Nem Nuong Vermicelli Bowl. It is vermicelli with grilled minced pork, fried spring roll and veggie. He asked for no veggie. That’s why his bowl looks weird. They brought out a bowl with the veggie but brought it back to the kitchen to get the veggie removed. The vermicelli bowl is $10.50. Generally, the prices are about 50cents more expensive from a year ago when we first visited.
The regular condiments which comes with the noodle soup. They were fresh.
