The praise dance group from Richmond Chinese Evangelical Free Church went for dim sum after the practice to celebrate the mid autumn festival. We went to Parklane Chinese Restaurant. Two of the members got to the restaurant earlier to place the orders first for the early bird discount. When we arrived, a couple of dishes had just delivered to our table. It was nice that we did not have to wait long for food.
Here are the dishes that we had. Taro Root Dumpling with a crispy exterior and a creamy interior.
Steamed Pork Dumpling (“Siew Mai”) with Pork Liver. This is slightly unique with the presence of the pork liver.
Phoenix Claw and Peanut. I only tasted the peanuts as the chicken feet is not easy to break up for sharing.
The Oyster Omelet is more of Chinese style omelet. Unlike the Taiwanese style which is more starchy and serve with a sauce. I prefer the Chinese style.
The Maggi Sauce Fish Fillet with Onion was very good too.
The Marinated Tofu and Egg is a “Chiu Chow or Teochew” dish.
This is another style of Pork Dumpling, deep fried version.
Steamed Pork with Salted Fish in Claypot Rice for filler. This is on special for $4.95 and have to be ordered before 11:00AM.
Another “Chiu Chow” dim sum, “Chiu Chow Fern Gor”, a dumpling with Minced Pork and Peanuts.
The above is Glutinous Rice Roll.
Chinese Donut Rice Roll topped with Pork Floss. It’s all abut texture, silky rice roll, crunchy Chinese Donut and fluffy pork floss. This is usually served with a sweet brown sauce and sesame sauce.
Fish Rice Roll has a more dense filling.
Another Claypot rice, this is with spareribs and Chinese sausage.
Beef Tripe and Beef Comb. It comes with tendon too.
Bean Crud Roll is tender and saucy.
Glutinous Rice Wrap comes in 2 pieces.
It has red glutinous rice mixed in, it tasted very good.
Sponge Cake to end the meal.
It came to $11 per person. It is always great to be able to sample a lot of dim sum in a big group.
