KL 2017 China Treasures

My secondary school mates had the first reunion this year. I was fortunate to be back at the right time to attend the reunion after 36 years.

We had dinner at China Treasures at Bukit Kiara. We were utterly loud, greeting one another, can’t help the excitement seeing one another after such a long time.

Boiled peanuts for snacking at the table.

We had Fish Salad to kick start the meal since it’s still Chinese New Year. This is called Salmon Fish and Crystal Pear Prosperity “Yee Sang” on the menu.

The double boiled soup was pretty tasty. It has Silkie chicken, dried scallop and ginseng root.

Half a roasted sesame chicken. The chicken itself was quite bland. A little of the Vietnamese sauce which is lightly spicy but quite salty goes a long way.

The steam life Grouper in Shanghai style has lots of chili and ginger.

The Tiger prawns in Nyonya style assam sauce was on the sweet side.

A vegetarian dish to balance the meal. This is called Braised Black Moss Roll and Chinese Beancurd with cabbage on the menu.

Fried rice with chicken and golden sea whelk as filler.

The chilled “Ai Yu” jelly with longan in lemongrass lime syrup was refreshing.

Last dessert was deep fried Chinese New Year bag which has taro and nian gao in it to end the meal.

The meal came to RM167 (about CAD50) per person.

It was a joyful reunion, brings back a lot of memories. We acted like school girls again.
