The praise dance group at the Richmond United Church wound down for the year last week. I joined them for lunch for this occasion to celebrate the end of the session.
Our group occupied 3 tables as we had over 30 people. We were seated in the private room.
The good thing about this restaurant is that tea is free of charge as we had the VIP card.
Deep fried peanuts to nibble as we settled down at the table. We also got several saucers of the XO sauce.
Vicky ordered for our table as she is a regular to dim sum restaurants. We had two orders of the Steamed Truffle Shui Mai.
The above is one of the signature dish here, i.e. Truffle, Ginger and Kai Lan Egg White Fried Rice.
Another specialty dish here is the above Salty Vegetable and Bitter Melon with Fried Vermicelli.
We had two servings of the Plain Rice Roll.
The Deep Fried Tofu in Hong Kong style is good for sharing as it comes in bite size pieces.
The Turnip Cake in Japanese Style came in an edible nest, although it was slightly greasy.
The Fried Egg and Prawn Roll has century egg in it too.
Lastly, their signature Souffle Topped with Almond Flakes.
We asked the server to cut it for us. He introduced himself as “Chow Goon”. It’s a big hat to wear as it’s the same title as the iconic Hong Kong singer cum actor, Adam Cheng.
The meal came to CAD13 per person include tax and tips. I forgot to mention that there is a 20% discount for most of the items with the VIP card.
I wish everyone a very blessed Christmas and a joyful new year. The praise dance for this group will resume on 8th January, 2018.
