Wo Fung Noodle House on Park Road, Richmond

On the way home from the Richmond World Festival, we noticed that Wo Fung had opened up a location on Park Road.

The new Wo Fung Noodle House is located at the strip mall behind IHOP on No. 3 Road. It is also in the same area where Kumare is.

Wo Fung was almost full house when we arrived. Luckily, we do not have to wait long for a table, just a few minutes. The condiments and water are set at a counter for self service.

We had to order their signature chicken wings for snack. They were served piping hot and they were crispy on the outside and the meat was tender. (more…)

Ramen Danbo at West 4th Avenue, Vancouver

Ben and I attended the first night of the Honda Celebration of Light on a Saturday. We drove to downtown early to secure a parking spot before some road closures.

We had dinner at Ramen Danbo in Kitsilano before the event.

The restaurant is small and seating is tight. Ben decided to go for the summer special chilled ramen.

It is a colourful dish with a nutty dressing. Ben enjoyed the chilled ramen in a hot summer day. (more…)

Shang Pin Beef Noodle House on Main St., Vancouver

Ben and I was in North Vancouver for a hide. On the way back, we drove along Main St. to look for a place for dinner.

We came upon Shang Pin Beef Noodles and decided to give it a try.

It was not too busy when we were there. The server who attended to us was not too friendly though.

Ben had the Braised Briskets, Tripes, and Tendons Noodle in Beef Soup for $9.25. The broth was a little spicy as Ben commented. (more…)

Gu Don Ya on Robson St., Vancouver

After the Canada 150 Parade, Ben and I just walked about to look for a place for dinner.

We ended up with Gyu Don Ya, a small Japanese restaurant on Robson St. The restaurant was busy and there are not a lot of seating.

We were lucky to get two seats along a long bench seating facing the window.

We shared a Teishoku Japanese Set Meal with the option of Gyu Don, a rice bowl topped with beef and onion simmered in a mildly sweet soy sauce flavoured stock. (more…)

Deer Garden on Fraser St., Vancouver

Ben and I went for a hike at Lynn Canyon in North Vancouver. After our hike, we returned to Vancouver to have lunch.

We had lunch at Deer Garden on Fraser St.

There is a Diners’ Choice Awards plaque at the entrance. It’s for the best Hong Kong style cafe for the year 2014.

Nothing says more than the decoration on the wall about the restaurant name. (more…)

G8 Taiwan Kitchen on Oak St., Vancouver

Ben, Nanzaro and I went out for dinner on a Saturday evening. Ben wanted to walk across the Oak St. Bridge to have a view of the river. So, we parked on the side road near Costco and walked to G8 Taiwan Kitchen across the bridge.

We were there just shortly before 5:30PM and the restaurant was not open for dinner yet. We waited for about 10 minutes before it opened for dinner. The restaurant has a short break after lunch hour.

We ordered the pop corn chicken for our appetizer. They were crispy on the outside and quite moist inside.

Ben and I shared a large Tendon Beef Noodle. (more…)

Kung Fu Noodle at Parker Place, Richmond

Kung Fu Noodle had moved from Venezia Place to Parker Place.

Kung Fu Noodle occupies the previous location of Ningbo Seafood Restaurant.

The decor were mostly from the previous restaurant.

I like the replica art piece of the Ching Ming Festival.

Ben and I shared two bowls of noodle. The first one was the Kungfu Noodle Special with lamb. The broth had a strong lamb flavour which we liked. (more…)
