Ben decided to have Bahn Mi for lunch after church service on a Sunday.
We went to Bahn Mi Saigon on Victoria Drive, Vancouver.
The place was very busy around 1PM. There is a few small tables in the restaurant but most people just take out and go. There is also fresh baguette for sale @ $2.75. Quite a few people bought the baguette while we were there.
There was an assembly line at the preparation counter. One person does the spreading of butter & pork liver pate, another fills the cold cut and other meat and the next person will fill with fresh cucumber slices, pickled carrots and white radish and cilantro and top with chili sauce. The last person will wrap the baguette.
Nanzaro wanted to try the burgers in Smokehouse Sandwich Co. on Westminster Highway but it was not so convenient to go by himself using public transport. So, I brought him there on a weekday while he was on a school break.
The parking lot is not big but there is plenty of street parking on the side road.
This is a self serving restaurant. The menu is written on a big black board and you order and pay at the counter. They will call your name when your order is ready. Cutleries and sauces are available at a small table near the counter.
Nanzaro ordered the Wilbur which is Cumin Spiced Pulled Pork with Coleslaw for $8.99. There is an option for double meat for $12.99. It was quite messy eating this as juices were dripping from it. Nanzaro likes his sandwich. Continue reading
Nanzaro got to go to run some errands during his study break week. On his way home, he stopped by Pita Pit for lunch.
The Pita Pit he went to is located on Blundell and Garden City Road.
Pita Pit’s set up is similar to Subway. All the fresh ingredients are set up at the buffet counter for customers to pick. Continue reading
