Jack Frost Dessert Cafe on No. 3 Road, Richmond

It was a hot spring day. Ben treated me a cool desert on a pre mother’s day celebration.

We went to Jack Frost Dessert Cafe across Richmond Center on No. 3 Road.

We arrived around 6:00PM and there were only two other customers there. When we left, the restaurant is already full house.

We asked the server what is their popular item and he told us it’s the Tiramisu Snowfall. The bowl is topped with a slice of Tiramisu cake. It was good as it is not too sweet. (more…)

Bubble Waffle Cafe at Ironwood Plaza, Richmond

I went out with my boys for dinner at Ironwood Plaza on a windy Saturday evening. Ben was still on his business trip.
We usually have dinner early, like between 5 to 6PM. However, Nanzaro was out running and we waited for him to return and shower. We arrived at Bubble Waffle Café close to 8:00PM and was surprised that we do not have to wait for a table.

Arkensen ordered the Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice. The colour of the chicken rice was just off, too orangey.

Arkensen had iced coffee which comes free with the meal. The free drink only applies to coffee and milk tea. I had the hot honey lemon drink and Nanzaro had the iced version and our drink has and extra charge of 50cents. (more…)

Emily, Lorna, Marian and I met up for dinner. Emily just got back to Vancouver after being away for more than 3 months.

We had dinner at C-Wok Restaurant and it was not busy just about 7:00PM.

We went for the set meal with four dishes.

The complementary daily soup of dried bok choy was served first.

The above is the restaurant’s signature dish; Hakka Steamed Salted Chicken. The meat were firm and the skin was gelatinous. (more…)

Daan Korean Cuisine at Garden City and Blundell Road, Richmond

My family went to a new Korean restaurant on Blundell and Garden City Road in Richmond for dinner. This new Korean restaurant is located just next to the Royal Seafood Restaurant. This dinner is for a birthday celebration for the April birthday boy.

We were there for early dinner just after 5PM. So, getting a table was not a problem.

Later into the evening, there was a short lineup. The restaurant was not too big.

We also noticed that quite a number of people came in for take-out because there is a 10% discount for take out on the soft opening.

Metallic cutlery which is popular among Korean restaurants.

Banchans which we got a second refill after we finished the first serving.

We shared two items among the four of us. The above is the Baby Octopus Hot Plate. We ordered the medium size which serves 2 to 3 people. We asked for medium spiciness. The sauce for this was rather sweet. (more…)

Enjoy Cafe 1+1 on Westminster Highway, Richmond

Nanzaro wanted a big dinner after his 21 km practice run for the marathon. We went to Enjoy Café after having consensus from Arkensen.

Our meal came with a free hot drink. An extra 0.75cents will be charged for cold drink. Since it is dinner time, I had the hot lemon honey drink so as not to affect my sleep later.

Arkensen ordered the Scallop and Bacon Penne in creamy sauce. I tasted a spoonful and it was tasty and creamy.

Nanzaro ordered the XO Seafood Fried Rice which is a new item in 2018. It was a little spicy. (more…)
