This year, the Success Women Richmond held the celebration at Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel instead of the usual venue in a Chinese restaurant.

First McDonald’s on No. 3 Road Marks 50 years

We visited the first McDonald’s in Canada upon it’s reopening to the public after closed for renovation for several months.

This McDonald’s is celebrating it’s 50 years in this location.

Scorpio’s M Dessert on Alexandra Road, Richmond

Updated: 26 Jul 2017: This restaurant had been replaced by Miss Lina Crepe Cakes.

After dinner, we walked over to the Central at Garden City to do some exploration on what’s new there.

Then we returned to Alexandra Road to look for a dessert place. We ended up at Scorpio’s M Dessert which opens from 3PM to midnight.

The interior looks nice with the high back chairs.

Ben just wanted a drink from the thirstiness he experienced from Midam Cafe. He had a Mango Soda which he said helps to quench his thirst. (more…)

Midam Cafe Richmond on Garden City Road

Ben and I went out for dinner on a Friday evening.

We decided to have Korean cuisine at Midam Cafe on Garden City Road.

Walking into the restaurant. it is all about basket ball, with Yao Ming’s life size poster on the entrance way.

Illumi Nation Summer Night Market in Richmond

Ben and I visited the Richmond Summer Night Market on Vulcan Way on the first day it opened in 2017.

The entrance in lined with colourful artificial giant flowers.

Since we were there early and the day is getting longer, the lanterns lighting were not visible.

RCEFC Praise Dance Group Farewell Dim Sum at Royal Seafood Restaurant

The RCEFC Praise Dance Group ended in April 2017 due to some contract issue between the church and the Praise Dance Association.

The praise dance group had a farewell dim sum on the following Thursday at Royal Seafood Restaurant. Royal Seafood Restaurant offers 20% discount and free tea from Monday to Friday, except holiday for orders pay by 11:00AM.

This is what we had. The above is Baked Portuguese Sauce Seafood Pie. The pie shell was flaky. This is under Special Price at $6.50.

Deer Garden Signatures in Union Square, Richmond

On a weekend, Ben and I went to Union Square for an early lunch after our morning walk.

It was just after 11:00AM and there was no line at Deer Garden.

The menu is huge. I meant the size of the menu, not the number of items in the menu.

I ordered the signature fish soup combo. I had thick vermicelli with fish fillets and fish tofu (my initial choice was fish puff which they did not have that day). My choice of broth was something Chiu Chow pork. The broth was tasty. (more…)

Chef of Dumplings, Aberdeen Foodcourt

Ben and I went to get some stuff from Canadian Tire. After shopping, Ben decided to take a walk. Our walk ended at Aberdeen Center.

We decided to grab a bite at the Aberdeen Food Court.

Ben was not hungry. We just share a combo meal from Chef of Dumplings.

We added a dessert to our combo meal and the bill came to $10. (more…)
