KL 2017 Restoran Soup Paradise

My father brought me to a new place for dinner. Hurray!

We went to this Soup Paradise which has an enticing Chinese name. My father told me the Chinese name literary means soup fit for the king.

We ordered two bowls of double boiled (or steamed) soup. The first one is lotus root and pork bones soup. There is black beans in it too. This was flavourful.

The next soup we tried was the old cucumber soup with pork slices in it. This one has a milder taste. (more…)

KL 2017 Hawker’s Meal 13

My father is a regular customer to this Kedai Kopi Matahari. The server will automatically brings him a cup of warm water without him ordering it.

The traditional coffee shop usually occupies a corner lot. The coffee shop owner will sell drinks while there will be several food stalls operating on the outside perimeter of the coffee shop selling street food.

My father had a bowl of “Mee Suah”. It was quite plain without much meat in it, just a little of pork. This is RM6 (about CAD1.80).

KL 2017 Restoran Yeong Tou Foo Chan Chan

My brother in law sent me back to my father’s place after the visit to Sunway Velocity Mall. We went out to Bandar Manjalara to have dinner with my dad.

My sister is not a fan of yeong tou foo by she agreed to go to this one for my sake.

We had some deep fried stuff like deep fried fish paste and stuffed eggplant.

KL 2017 Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul

My sister and I went to explore the food court in Sunway Velocity Mall.

Street food is the theme of the food court.

There are a lot of eateries here just like most of the shopping malls here. Looking at all the food stalls made us hungry.

KL 2017 Kuala Lumpur Sentral

On a Sunday, two of my nieces had to take the commuter train back to Kampar from KL Sentral.

Now, there is shopping mall connected to KL Sentral. Nu Sentral is just a few years old. It has quite a number of eateries. Parkson Grand is the anchor tenant.

After dropping my nieces off, we went to the KL Sentral Food court to have lunch.

I shared a Fried Chicken Biryani with my sister. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender in side. The serving is big. This is RM14.90 (about CAD4.50). (more…)

KL 2017 Restaurant Makanan Sin Hupp Kee

My sister and family went to Sg. Long for apartment hunting for my niece who will be studying in the UTAR in Sg. Long in the middle of this year.  On the way back, we stop for dinner.

We came upon this restaurant which looked rather busy. Like the open concept of the kitchen.

We had several dishes to go with steamed rice. The above was Assam Steamed Tilapia. The addition of long beans and eggplant was nice.

The above was the signature dish of the restaurant, according to the person who took our order. It is fried egg on a hot plate top with Japanese tofu with a fermented bean curd meat sauce. (more…)
