On Thaipusam day, my sister and I visited Royal Selangor, also to meet up with an ex-colleague. My sister also had a short working life in Royal Selangor while waiting for her STPM result.
We met up in The Cafe at Royal Selangor. It’s an in-house cafe which provide customers some food service while shopping here.
The vase used to decorate the table is made with pewter.
Not to mention the sugar container which is also a pewter product.
The most impressive is the Melon Teapot used to serve tea. Continue reading
I met up with one of my ex-colleague from Royal Selangor. She also stays in Bandar Sri Damansara.
She brought me to PappaRich in the neighbourhood. PappaRich is a modernize coffee shop.
My ex-colleague recommended the “Yin Yeong” here. She said it has just the right combination of coffee and tea. I ordered the version with glass jelly.
We ordered two items to share. The first item is Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken. This is RM13.90 (about CAD4.20). Continue reading
Here are more of my hawker’s stalls adventure. I was not too hungry, so I had a lighter lunch.
Chinese mix fruit rojak with prawn paste and ground peanuts. The fruit include pineapple, jicama and cucumber. This is RM5 (about CAD1.50).
Iced coffee, RM2.50 (about CAD0.75).
“Yin Yeong” Kaya Pastry; RM1.50 (about CAD0.50). Continue reading
The Starling is a new mall in Damansara Uptown. My sister in law parked her car here which is near the Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee restaurant.
This place is very quiet. Here are Chinese New Year decoration of the mall.
My sister in law (my brother’s wife) brought me to Damansara Uptown to have dinner.
We went to the Damansara Uptown Hokkien Mee where we can also order BBQ duck from two doors away.
This is my brother’s family’s favourite BBQ duck place to go.
My sister in law ordered half a BBQ duck for the three of us. Half a duck is RM32 (about CAD10). Continue reading
After lunch, I went up to my old office to greet some of the other staff whom I know. Later, I went to check out the Berjaya Time Square Chinese New Year decor while waiting for my sister in law to pick me up.
Here are the photos of the Chinese New Year decorations at Berjaya Time Square.
I met up with another few ex-colleagues at Berjaya Time Square for lunch. This was a last minute arrangement since I managed to get transportation there.
We had lunch at Vivo Pizza for convenience.
We decided to go with the daily specials which includes a soup. The soup which comes with the combo is cream of mushroom soup.
I had a Spicy Tuna Melt with crinkle fries. It was a big serving.
The rest of my ex-colleagues had the New York Fish and Chips. I’m glad to be able to meet up despite the last minute arrangement. However, there are lesser of the old staff left that I know now.
After breakfast, we strolled in Ikea, mostly window shopping. Then we walked over to Ikano Power Center and also checked out Curves. But the open air concept in Curves was not pleasant to me as it was hot and humid.
After all the walking and sweating, we felt hungry again. My sister in law brought me to Desa Aman Puri for a late lunch. We went to 168 Pan Mee. Despite that it was already late lunch hour, the place is full.
We had the soup version of Pan Mee. The difference of the pan mee here from others is that they don’t have fried anchovies.
I like the texture of the hand torn noodle, with irregular thickness.
We had iced “Suen Mui Kat” (lime juice with sour plum) for our drink.
Ben’s sister brought me out on a Saturday. We went to Ikea for a late breakfast.
We shared a few items. The item that we cannot find in Ikea in Canada is the chicken wing and spring roll.
I think the Ikea in Vancouver has less pastry option than here.
Chicken wing is great for snack. Continue reading
