Nanzaro treated the family with a German brunch.
Fraser Park Restaurant is located at an unassuming warehouse park at Byrne Road. It was very busy when we arrived around 11:30AM on a Saturday. Sharing table is a norm here.
Ben and I shared a German breakfast as the serving is big. It is a bed of hash brown topped with 3 eggs scrambled with sauteed onions, peppers and cheese. On top of that, there is sausage and generous amount of bacon and ham.
The German breakfast also comes with 2 toasts of your choice and a piece of fruit. (more…)
After the Lafarge Lake visit was cut short by the weather, we went to the nearby Henderson Place Mall for lunch.
We love this mall for it’s variety of Asian and Middle Eastern Cuisines.
This time, the mall seemed more busy than our previous visits. This time, we decided to try the Torta Persian Cuisine.
We picked their specialty Dizi Sangi to try as we saw a copy of a local Chinese newspaper cut out with the photo of Dizi meal pasted in the stall front. We were told that it will take 10 minutes for the food to be heated up. (more…)
Ben and I went to the Richmond Public Market to get groceries. Since, it was near lunch time, Ben suggested that we had lunch here before we headed back home.…
TGIF! My family went out for dinner as the home cook is taking a break.
We went for Vietnamese cuisine as it’s been a while we had that. We went to Gia Minh Vietnamese Restaurant on Fraser St.
Gia Minh was not busy at about 6:30PM.
Although the restaurant was not busy, the service was a bit slow.
Ben and I shared a Gia Minh’s special combo, Combo A. We can have the option of rice or vermicelli and we picked vermicelli. It came with 2 brochettes and we had one pork and one chicken. (more…)
On a weekend, my family went to Karakoram Restaurant for lunch.
Karakoram Restaurant took over Tibisti which was also a middle eastern restaurant which offered all you can eat.
We were there before noon and the restaurant was very quiet. It is still an all you can eat place.
We went to take a quick look at the buffet before we decided to go ahead with the all you can eat at $14.99 per person. The above are the salad and condiment bar.
Chicken Biryani, Lemon Potatoes, Mixed Vegetable Stew, … (more…)
My office celebrated the birthday of a colleague on a Friday. We ordered lunch from Panos Greek Taverna on SE Marine Dr which is 5 minutes drive away.
My colleague called up Panos Greek Cuisine to place the take out order at 11:00AM, when the restaurant opens for lunch. We told the restaurant that we will pick up our orders at 12:00PM. When one of my colleague arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes past 12:00PM, he was asked to wait. He waited for 20 minutes before our food were ready. That is how busy the restaurant is.
I had the Chicken Souvlaki which comes with Greek salad, potato, rice and tzatziki. All of us swapped the tzatziki with hummus except one but somehow, all our orders came with hummus. We preferred hummus as it goes better with the pita bread.
There were plenty of pita bread left over as most of us only had half a pita bread.
Here are some of the items that my colleagues ordered: Prawn Souvlaki. (more…)
Nanzaro opted for some Korean food, instead at the Henderson Place Mall food court. He went to the Seoul Truck stall where the stall front is decorated like a food…
After the hike at Belcara Regional Park, we went for lunch at Henderson Place Mall in Coquitlam.
The food court was not busy like those in Richmond.
Ben and I decided to try ML JianBing, a northern Chinese cuisine stall.
We ordered one of the item from the “Today’s Special”.
The Cold Noodles was al-dante, or “QQ” as the Chinese call it. It is slightly tangy as the sauce has vinegar in it. (more…)
Ben and I had dinner at the Le Petit Saigon on East Hastings on the day we went to the PNE.
Le Petit Saigon was quite busy on a Friday night. We also noticed quite a number of take out orders.
We ordered two items to share. The first item was Grilled Beef and BBQ Minced Pork over Vermicelli. We enjoy this Asian style salad. (more…)
