Chipotle-BBQ-Bacon

As in many previous new product launches, McDonalds had contacted us and asked if we would like some coupons. It was just last week, we gave away a bunch of coupons for the newly launched Buttermilk Biscuits. Those coupons came from McDonalds Canada. For those of you who got those coupons, I hope you used that and enjoyed it.

Even before we get to settle down, this time is was the McDonalds in the US who provided us even more coupons.

The Chipotle BBQ Bacon Angus is packed with 100% Angus beef, bacon, cheese, onions, pickles and a bold and spicy BBQ sauce, however, don’t be shy to run out and try one, because this sandwich, which is only available for a limited time (until March 31).

This will come in handy for those of you in Vancouver who have … plans to cross the border to the US in the upcoming Spring Break with your family.

These coupons can only be redeemed in the US (well, the product is not yet available in Canada) and it has a time limit until March 31st. Please note that we will only be sending the coupons to addresses in the Vancouver area (sorry Washingtonians!).

If you have plans to go to the US anytime between now and the end of March … and would like to try the Chipotle BBQ Bacon Angus Buger, just send an email to suanne@chowtimes.com with a mailing address. To make you do a bit more work, you must also tell us the name of the most powerful chef in the world in your email. HINT: do a search on chowtimes. LOL!

I have a feeling some of you will not read the instructions above and quickly shoot us an email. If you don’t mention the name of the most powerful chef in the world, we’ll we won’t send you any. Just to be fair to everyone.

Updated: 21st Feb, 10:52 am: Hi all, all the coupons are accounted for already. This offer is closed now.

Please note that we will never send your email, name or address to McDonalds. We will destroy the emails after use.

Rumour has is that the so so wrong but so so good (to some) McRib is coming back to Canada.

Every few years when it comes back, I get excited..remembering trying it when I was around 10 years old and not telling my mom.

Then having to come home to a huge dinner and pretending that I was hungry only to confess a third of the way in when my stomach couldn’t take another bite.

I’m pretty sure that this makes the McRib seem more ‘special’ to me than it should, but I’m excited none the less.

Hi James: Hehehe … This was what LotusRapper said about the McRib coming from his experience working in the McD kitchen: “That was when they first launched the McRib. It was awful. I even remember cooking it, basically a piece of white, tasteless pork formed to look like it has “ribs”, slathered with a gloppy, sweet BBQ sauce and fried onions on top. Yick.” … but who cares right? As long as it tastes good. 🙂 Ben

Yup … whatever you comment on chowtimes can and will be used against you in the court of foodies. 🙂

Went to Bellingham over the weekend. The McD there have no clue these coupons existed. Consult with manager blah, blah, blah. It made us look very guilty as if we printed the cards ourselves. 🙂

Ben, maybe you could inform McD USA regarding this feedback.

Sorry about that Lissa. Did you get the burger eventually? Those cards have security features and it is not something that could be duplicated easily. I will send a feedback to McDonalds USA and will keep you in the loop. Ben
