Tropical Baked Bananas

For dessert, the South Arm Multicultural Community Kitchen made a Tropical Baked Bananas.


The aroma of the toasted coconut flakes and warm bananas was wonderful.


  • 1/4 cups butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons orange juice
  • 6 bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise
  • 1/3 cup shredded coconut




img_0571Preheat oven to 375F.

In a small bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Stir in cloves and orange juice until smooth.

img_0572Place the bananas on a parchment lined baking sheet, cut side up. Spread the butter mixture evenly over the bananas.
img_0581Sprinkle with coconut.

Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly and heated through, about 10 minutes.

Serve warm.
