Silver Tower Cafe on Alexandra Road, Richmond

My family has not been to Silver Tower Cafe for dinner for a while, simply because finding a parking in this strip mall is quite slim.

We were lucky this particular weekend as we found one right in front of the restaurant when we arrived just after 5PM.

One of the most likable feature of Hong Kong cafe is the free drink that comes with your meal. I had a hot almond drink while Ben and Nanzaro had a cold chocolate drink and iced lemon tea respectively. Silver Tower does not charge extra for cold drink, a plus point.

Nanzaro ordered the Duck Meat with Preserved Vegetable Fried Rice. The serving is big. (more…)

Wo Fung Noodle House on Park Road, Richmond

On the way home from the Richmond World Festival, we noticed that Wo Fung had opened up a location on Park Road.

The new Wo Fung Noodle House is located at the strip mall behind IHOP on No. 3 Road. It is also in the same area where Kumare is.

Wo Fung was almost full house when we arrived. Luckily, we do not have to wait long for a table, just a few minutes. The condiments and water are set at a counter for self service.

We had to order their signature chicken wings for snack. They were served piping hot and they were crispy on the outside and the meat was tender. (more…)

Deer Garden on Fraser St., Vancouver

Ben and I went for a hike at Lynn Canyon in North Vancouver. After our hike, we returned to Vancouver to have lunch.

We had lunch at Deer Garden on Fraser St.

There is a Diners’ Choice Awards plaque at the entrance. It’s for the best Hong Kong style cafe for the year 2014.

Nothing says more than the decoration on the wall about the restaurant name. (more…)

Copa Cafe on River Road, Richmond

On a weekend, Ben and I had our morning walk at the Minoru Park. Spring is the most beautiful season, according to Ben.

After our walk in the park, we walked over to the T&T across the Oval. After some light groceries shopping, Ben suggested to have lunch at Copa Cafe around the corner.

We had a short wait for a table as it was almost noon. The decoration is modern as this is relatively a new restaurant.

Water is served instead of Chinese tea like most other Hong Kong style restaurants.

We ordered from the mini set menu which comes with a drink. Ben had the Baked Portuguese style Pork Chop Cutlet on Linguini. Our food took quite a while to arrive. (more…)

AAA Restaurant on Alexandra Road, Richmond

My family went for supper at the relatively new AAA Restaurant on Alexandra Road.  Nanzaro wanted to carbo-load before his long run training for Marathon. He is going for a 30km run the next day.

It was almost 9PM and the place was not too busy.

Paper table mat.

It has similar take out dessert offer just like Lido when you spend CAD22 and above. The offer is only for dining in between 12pm to 2pm and from 6pm to 10pm.

Arkensen ordered a Curry Beef Brisket with rice. It was quite a large serving. (more…)
