We were delighted to see Bubble Waffle Cafe opening a restaurant in Ironwood Plaza.
It is located next to the Browns Socialhouse on Steveston Hwy. We came here a week after it opens for business.
We arrived about 11:30am and got a table immediately. It got busier later.
The menu is definitely larger than the locations in the food court.
Nanzaro ordered the Fish Puff with Rice. It came in a hot plate. For this Teppanyaki Combo, one gets to choose either rice or egg noodle or Udon for the carbohydrate. The sauce option is either house sauce or Korean sauce. Nanzaro opted for rice with house sauce. (more…)
What a coincidence. We had dinner at Kingspark Steak House on the same day we had breakfast at Kingspark Good Food.
The signature metal colour cup of Kingspark Steak House.
Arksensen ordered the Satay E-fu Noodle with Eggplant because he likes eggplant. The eggplants were piping hot.
Ben and I shared a dish from the Chinese dishes section which comes with a bowl of steam rice. (more…)
It’s difficult to find a place for breakfast early morning. Ben and I were to Metrotown on a weekend for our morning walk. Ben managed to find an entrance to the Crystal Mall before 9:00AM. The entrance to the market area is opened earlier than 9:00AM while other entrances will not be opened until 9:00AM.
We had breakfast at the Crystal Mall foodcourt. Only a few stalls were opened at this early hour. We went to one of the Hong Kong style place.
Ben ordered the noodle with luncheon meat and fried egg. (more…)
Arkensen is going for watch the Dota International Tournament in Seattle again. I heard that the pool prize for this year has risen to 20 million. The competing teams are…
It’s been a long time since we last visited Alleluia Cafe.
One of the main reason we have not been back here is the parking which is really impossible at peak hours.
I ordered the Cheese and Mushrooms Omellete with toast.
The omelette was rather bland. I had to sprinkle some table salt on it which I seldom do. (more…)
Ben wanted to go to Central Park for our morning walk on a weekend. We went out early like before 8:00AM. At this early hour, there seems to be very little choice of breakfast place.
The only place we found was Honolulu Cafe on Kingsway. The restaurant looks really dated. It was a quiet morning as I overheard a server chitchatted with a regular customer.
Ben ordered a Congee Combo. He had the Fish and Liver Congee, a not so common combination. We like the combination though. The congee was already flavoured, so no extra condiment required.
The soy sauce fried noodle which Ben picked for his combo was more moist than other places. Ben said the congee and noodle is better than Happy Date Bakery and Restaurant in Richmond. (more…)
Ben and I went out for our morning walk around 10AM on a Saturday morning. Ben was craving for some wonton noodle.
There is not many places that is open before 11AM for lunch. We started our walk from the Lansdowne Mall. We went to check out Tsim Chai but it only opens at 11:00AM. We then walk over to Alexandra Road. At that time, Max Noodle is still not open yet. So, we kept walking along Alexandra Road and came back to Max Noodle about 11:15Am and it’s almost full house already.
Ben ordered the Wonton with “Suey Gow” (dumpling) Lo-Mien. The soup came in a separate bowl. The lo-mien here is plain looking but they are flavoured. Some other places flavoured their lo-mien with oyster sauce. Ben likes the serving size here which is just right for him. (more…)
On a weekend, my family went to Continental Plaza for dinner. Ben gave the boys the choice to pick the restaurant. Arkensen picked Firebird Cafe.
Arkensen wanted lots of meat. He ordered the customizable Sizzling Grill. His choice of meat was Ribeye Steak and Sausage. The Ribeye steak was surprisingly tender.
He had fries for his side and gravy for the sauce.
Arkensen’s sizzling plate also comes with a soup. He opted for the cream soup. (more…)
Ben and I intended to go to Lido Restaurant for breakfast on a weekend morning, just past 8:00AM. As usual, Lido was full house and there were several parties in…
