Samsoonie Noodle and Rice on Westminster Hwy, Richmond

We intended to go to Kingparks for lunch on a Saturday after negotiated with our boys on where to eat despite that we know getting a parking space will be difficult.

We entered the parking lot where Banzai is located and Nanzaro noticed that Man Ri Sung had been replaced by a new Korean restaurant. So, we changed our plan to try out this new place.

Samsoonie Noodle & Rice has opened just a month when I checked with the server. The decor is rustic with wooden tables and chairs.

Ben ordered Dolsot Bibimbap which is Bibimbap served in hot stone bowl. Dolsot Bibimbap is $1 more than the regular Bibimbap; i.e $9.99. It is loaded with vegetables and some meat on top.

Ben enjoyed the crusty rice at the bottom of the bowl. The red pepper paste is served on the side and there is also a miso soup to go with it.

I had the Pork Neck Bone Ramen for $9.99. It is a miso base soup boiled with cabbage and neck bone. I find it therapeutic to dig into the bone to get all the meat out.

Condiments for the ramen include fried garlic chips and chili flakes.

Arkensen ordered Miso Ramen which include bean sprout, mushroom, spinach, seaweed, egg and green onion. I tasted the broth which is not too salty. This is $7.99.

The serving of the ramen is pretty big.

Nanzaro ordered a Spicy Seafood Hot Pot for $11.99. The seafood include squid, prawn and mussel. The rice bowl was very hot when brought to the table. The broth was flavourful.

Complimentary banchans include kimchee and potatoes in sweet sauce.
