Tin Tin Seafood Harbour Restaurant on No. 3 Road, Richmond

I had the opportunity to attend praise dance in the summer.

For this last occasion for me, I joined the group for dim sum after praise dance. This particular group always go out for dim sum after the praise dance to get to know one another better.

We went to Tin Tin Seafood Harbour Restaurant this time. The organizer had reserved two tables. This place was full house and we had to wait a few minutes as one of our table was not ready yet.

Tin Tin Seafood Harbour Restaurant does not charge for tea which is a good thing.

One of the lady took charge to order as the rest of the group were busy chatting. The above is Spicy XO Sauce Rice Noodle with Shrimp. This was really good.

We ordered three servings of the Eggplant with Shrimp Paste as one of the lady suggested not to cut them into smaller pieces. (more…)

BT Cafe on Kingsway, Vancouver

Ben and I visited BT Cafe for dinner on a week day when we were in the neighborhood to run errands.

It’s been a long time since we came back to this restaurant. Even the banner has aged.

It was not too busy around 6:30PM. We noticed that the server knows the customers well from their conversation. They must be regulars and live the neighbuorhood.

Ben ordered his comfort dish; Egg Swirl Rice Noodle. This dish tasted right on the spot and the serving is quite big; enough for both of us to share. (more…)

Kingspark Steak House at Westminster Hwy, Richmond

My family went out for dinner on a Sunday evening. When Ben asked what we would like to eat, everyone’s answer was “anything”. I’m sure Ben is frustrated with such answer as no one wants to take charge. Is this a common problem?

So, Ben had to decide again. He drove to Kingspark Steak House and we found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. Perhaps, it was still early, just around 5PM. Parking has not been easy in this part of the strip mall.

Nanzaro ordered the XO Sauce Seafood Fried Rice. The serving was not as big as those we get from Enjoy Café 1+1.

I shared an order with Ben. We had the Seafood Chow Mien. This dish was rather disappointing. The sauce looked like glue. We will not order this dish again. The serving was also rather small. (more…)

RMD Oriental Rice Noodle on Akroyd Rd, Richmond

My family visited the RMD Oriental Rice Noodle on Akroyd Rd for dinner on Sunday evening.

This is a new restaurant that replaced the Tri-Ty Café.

The name of the restaurant literally says “Cross Bridge Rice Noodle”; just like the art work on the wall.

The above is how the ingredients of the dish being served; everything displayed in small saucers. The sliced meat in rectangle box is charged extra for $2.99. Both Nanzaro and Ben selected lamb for the extra meat.

Szechuan Delicious on No. 3 Road, Richmond Closing Soon

Our family had been trying to come to this restaurant more often once we learned that the current location will be closed in July due to redevelopment. We really hope they will find a new home.

When we come as a family of four, we always get the combo for 4 for CAD52. We like it because for that we get two appetizers and choose four main dishes. You cant beat that for value because Szechuan cuisine is generally more expensive than other Chinese cuisine. We sure are going to miss this place when it closes soon.

The free appetizers are Spicy Pig Ears and Mung Bean Noodle in a tangy and spicy sauce. Ben likes the sauce so much that sometime we bring our own container to take the leftover sauce home as we dare not ask the server to pack the sauce to go.

There are three choices for the fish dish; Water Boiled Fish, Fish with Tofu (that’s our choice this time) and Fish with Preserved Vegetable. Ben commented that the fish is good, just wonder what fish is it. (more…)

Angel Cake House on Fraser St., Vancouver

Ben and I started our weekend ritual on a Friday evening. Ben usually picks me up from work and we will drive to some nearby neighbourhood for dinner.

For this Friday, we went to Angel Cake House for some comfort food.

Besides being a HongKong style restaurant, Angel Cake House also has a cake and dessert counter. We’ll see if we still have room for dessert after our dinner.

We ordered a House Special Chow Mien as we spotted our neighbour customer had some sort of chow mien which looks good. It did not disappoint as the chow mien was still crispy where the sauce has not soak into it. There were generous amount of assortment of meat on top of the noodles. (more…)

NamNam Noodle on Main St., Vancouver

It’s TGIF. Ben picked me up from work and we made it a Friday dine out night to start the weekend.

We drove to Main St. to look for a dine out place. We could not decide where to eat and was thinking maybe we will revisit Hawker’s Delight. When we walked towards Hawker’s Delight, we noticed a new restaurant just a few doors away. So, we changed our plan and went to NamNam Noodle.

NamNam Noodle is a Chinese restaurant which serves hand pulled noodle.

The poster seems inviting enough for us with a reasonable price. (more…)
